We use your IP and email address to gather broad demographic information. Specifically, we are interested in knowing how many "hits" we get, how many are "new" or repeats, what browser is used, and where the hits came from (e.g., what search engine, bookmark, etc.) We also want to know who you are collectively  to tailor the site's contents to you. In the CatBox forum, we have access to your IP address, email address, etc.

We use no banner advertisements or outside advertisements of any type except for occasional content placed by a webring or the like.

Support Boards, Bulletin Boards & Email Lists: This Web site collects cookies, email addresses, and some personal information that you provide (your name, age, address, etc.) or is available about you (IP address, browser type, date posting, etc.).  Only Dr. Irene, her CatBox Administrators, and her server have access to this information, though she may make this information available to consultants and others if there is any question of a security breach or if Dr. Irene judges a poster to be repeatedly harassing or otherwise intimidating other posters.

While Dr. Irene may share collective demographics about her visitors as a whole, she will not sell your email address or otherwise share any of your personal information  with any third party for any purpose. Nor will you receive unsolicited spam from this site.

Our email lists and are conducted off-site. Please contact www.groups.yahoo.com, etc. for their privacy policies.

Advice Pages: This web site collects email addresses and personal information sent by members who are requesting consultation. Only Dr. Irene and her server have access to this material. Names, addresses, and/or personal information is not shared with or sold to any third party for any reason whatsoever. In cases where email advice is posted, information that may identify participants is stripped prior to posting.

In the even that human error occurs and an email address or name is inadvertently posted by Dr. Irene, Dr. Irene will immediately remove same upon notification. Dr. Irene cannot be held liable for damages in the unlikely even that error occurs in the delivery of services.

General Email: In the absence of an anonymity request, it will be tacitly assumed that general email (i.e., the writer is making a statement rather than seeking advice, (such as commenting on the site etc.) and includes his or her full name and/ or contact info intends that information to be published.

This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, email exchange, and/or news groups available to its users. Please remember that any information that you disclose in these areas becomes public information. Please exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.  While Dr. Irene will not grant printed publication rights of any of the forum posts, there is no way to prevent unscrupulous authors from reproducing the material. Some email support lists and commentary boards are not moderated. The CatBox forum is moderated by peers. Unless explicitly doing so, Dr. Irene does not endorse advise made by contributing peers.

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Only Dr. Irene has access to all information! All information is password protected. No third parties have access to any website data other than as specified on this page.   

Credit Card Payment

All credit card information for paid advice is processed on a secure server through Authorize.net. Authorize.net does not make credit card numbers available to Dr. Irene.

Security and Confidentiality of Telephone Consultation

The content of private email correspondence or telephone conversation notes with Dr. Irene is as secure as possible. Only Dr. Irene has access. Dr. Irene will not release any information to third parties unless ordered by a United States Court of Law.  

Ethical Considerations

Dr. Irene is a licensed psychologist in New York and New Jersey, and is a full member of the American Psychological Association. She respects the guidelines for the ethical practice of psychology as set forth by these bodies.
