"It matters not that I
am Blue
Or what I look like to you...
I love me." -Dr. Irene
An individual who respects themselves is pretty smart. Life
works better. Unfortunately, too many people don't respect themselves. Deep, deep down (if
not way, way up front), they dislike who they are.
Why? There is no such thing as inherent awfulness!
("Hey God, you made a mistake when you were putting me together!")
On the other hand, there is awful behavior. We can choose
to behave awfully. Or, through awareness, we can choose not to. So, there
are no awful people, but there are people who behave awfully.
Bottom line: If you don't like your behavior, clean up
your act. You deserve no less.
The Key is Self-Respect:
People tend to treat those closest as they treat themselves.
After all, "It's just me. "If I am disrespectful with myself, I will likely be
disrespectful with MY spouse, MY child, MY parent, etc.
Respect for other begins at home. The reasoning is
deceptively simple: if you respect yourself, you will not disrespect yourself - by
treating yourself, or another poorly!

MiNd--And Those WhO MinD, dOnT MaTTeR!"
